KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Digitalisation Initiative that has started this year will help realise the digital government concept and further enhance the delivery system of the state public service. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor said the initiative is expected to revolutionise the mindset and ways of doing things among the state civil service personnel. “Surely this will have high impact on the state public service and boost productivity,” he said after launching the Smart Library at the State Public Services Department (PSD) in PPNS here Thursday.

He was also briefed on the Sabah Digitalisation Initiative by PSD Director (Digital Government Division) Doria Tai. On hand were State Secretary Datuk Sr. Safar Untong and State PSD Director General Datuk Rosmadi Sulai. Hajiji commended the development of the Smart Library, which was one of the projects under the initiative to provide an edge for the civil servants in terms of getting quicker information. The Smart Library is equipped with e-book, e-magazine and online e-learning and the Chief Minister hoped more such projects would be developed to facilitate data sharing in realising the digital government concept. As technology is becoming sophisticated by the day, Hajiji urged all public personnel in Sabah to prepare themselves to embrace the digitalisation system now and in the future.
